Judy talks about her work

Judy Worth, M.A., has been a human resource development consultant and small business owner for 20 years. Her clients have included utilities companies, health care organizations, state and local governments, non-profit agencies, and colleges and universities.

In addition to her work as a consultant, Judy has an extensive background in training and development, with a focus on interpersonal communication skills training. She has also served as instructional designer and training materials developer for clients in medicine, law, and government agencies. Her work experiences include leading roles in:

  • Consulting with Managers of a Human Resources Division to help them map interdepartmental work processes and develop a process for designing standardized operating procedures for the division.

  • Co-facilitating an organizational restructuring of an electrical utilities company.

  • Consulting with the management group of a non-profit agency to help them decentralize their operations.

  • Consulting with a Human Resources Ad Hoc Work Group to help them develop and implement a new Sick Leave Policy that incorporates a modified "occurrences" system.

  • Providing facilitation and development services to a self managed work team to help them develop the skills to manage a self-funded health insurance program for their employer.

  • Assisting the management of a non-profit agency in implementing their strategic plan and linking the implementation process to other planning, reporting, and evaluation activities within the agency.

  • Consulting with the Board of a charitable non-profit to help them create a vision for their agency's future and begin succession planning and restructuring of the Board.

  • Consulting with a management work group to help them design and implement a federally mandated "Results Oriented Management and Accountability" system within their agency, using it as a tool to integrate all planning, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation activities within the agency.

  • Providing instructional design and content development services to support the creation of a computerized office record review system for physician re-certification.

Judy is currently a full time consultant based in Lexington, KY. Her practice focuses on human resource development, for which she provides the following services: facilitation of meetings and planning sessions; design and facilitation of organization development activities including strategic planning, organizational restructuring, and team development; design and facilitation of process improvement activities and initiatives; facilitation of focus groups; creation of competency models; and creation of behaviorally based employee selection tools and the delivery of skills to use them.
