Judy Worth, M.A.

Judy Worth, M.A., Judy Worth, M.A., while accepting the Shingo Prize for Perfecting Patient Journeys, a guide for leaders of healthcare organizations who want to implement lean thinking. Judy has stepped away from working in lean healthcare and now works exclusively with organ procurement organizations, and eye and tissue banks. Her most current project is an inquiry into the reasons so many families decline to donate when their loved ones die a cardiac death. She is coordinating research with our OPO clients from all over the country to see if there are answers to this problem that will reduce the numbers of live-saving organs that go into the ground rather into the bodies of people who are waiting. Addressing the donor shortage in ways that also protect the rights of families has been a career-long interest of Judy’s and is likely to remain so.
